Unicoi County Circuit Court in located in the first judicial district of Tennessee. The types of cases heard in Circuit Court are Civil cases for lawsuits with damage claims greater than $25,000, divorces, name changes, conservatorships and appeals of decisions from General Sessions, Juvenile court.

Criminal Courts have jurisdiction over felony and misdemeanor cases in Tennessee. Criminal cases originate from indictments from the Unicoi County Grand Jury or from probable cause hearings in the General Sessions Court. Criminal Cases are prosecuted by the District Attorney General's Office. The Circuit Court Clerk's office will issue Summons for Jury Service for each term of court.
